About this treatment
LED light therapy is one of the gentlest and most versatile skincare treatments in our studio, and one of the most evidence-backed. Different wavelengths of light affect the skin in different ways. Red light supports collagen and reduces inflammation. Blue light targets the bacteria that drive breakouts. Near-infrared works deeper to soothe and calm. A properly run LED facial combines these wavelengths based on what your skin needs.
The appointment runs 60 minutes. It begins with a tailored cleanse to clear the skin and prepare it to absorb the benefits of the light. A gentle exfoliation follows, only where appropriate, to remove surface barriers and let the light penetrate more effectively. We then position you under the LED panel for 15 to 20 minutes, during which you simply relax. The light is warm rather than hot, and the sensation is often described as restful.
During the LED phase, the facialist works the neck and shoulders with a gentle massage. After the LED treatment, we apply a targeted serum chosen for your concern, a calming mask, and finish with moisturiser and SPF.
LED suits a particular range of concerns. For breakout-prone skin, blue light in combination with a calming mask and careful post-treatment products can visibly reduce active spots over a course of sessions. For redness, sensitivity or rosacea-style flushing, red and near-infrared work to calm the skin at a deeper level. For early signs of skin tiredness and loss of tone, red light supports the skin's own collagen production over time.
The treatment is almost entirely downtime-free. There is no redness, no peeling, no flaking. You can wear makeup immediately afterwards, return to work, go to an event, train in the gym. This makes LED a particularly good choice for clients whose schedules do not accommodate any recovery time, and for anyone booking a treatment around an event or photography session.
Results are cumulative. A single LED session gives an immediate boost in calmness and hydration, but meaningful change in skin condition usually requires a short course of six to eight sessions spaced weekly. Many clients build LED into their routine as a weekly 'maintenance' appointment during a specific phase, such as treating a breakout cycle or preparing the skin for a big event.
It is also particularly effective when combined with other treatments. Pairing LED with the signature facial, the hydrating facial, or with the brightening facial produces better results than either treatment alone. Your facialist will suggest the right pairing during consultation.
There are very few contraindications. If you have any light-sensitive medical condition, or if you are taking medications that react to light, we will ask about this during consultation and adapt accordingly. For the vast majority of clients, LED is among the safest and most forgiving treatments we offer.
Aftercare is minimal. Continue your normal skincare routine, wear SPF, drink water. There are no restrictions on exercise, sauna use or makeup.
